What are the best Search Engines? Why would someone need such a list? The purpose of this list is to provide the new and the old webmasters with a source they can use when considering their websites for search engine submission. Submitting your website should be a critical part of your website plan.
A scientist at CERN, invented the World Wide Web (WWW) in 1990. The Web, as it is called today, was originally conceived and developed to meet the demand for information sharing between multiple scientists working in different universities and institutes all over the world.
Search Engines have what they call spiders. Some spiders are annoying, and some are just what your website needs. They head out to their web to collect all the information that gets stuck into the web. They then take that information and organize it into categories, and sub categories, and so on. Most of the spiders will come to your website without you even asking them to and you will find your website indexed everywhere in a short time. So why add this list? Well, we do have to keep up with our competition, and most of us have something very important to get out on the web fast. Submitting your website can sometimes move this process along faster.
There are so many search engines out there that are good, but then again there are some that are foul and use negative practices that can hurt your search engine rankings. Please be sure to investigate a search engine prior to submitting your website with them. Some engines are simple link farms and their only purpose is for advertisement and list building. They simply want your name, email address, and more so that they can add you to their spam list. You must judge for yourself and remember that the safe choice is Google, Yahoo, and Bing.
When submitting your website to the search engines below be sure to research each one carefully. We do not support all search engines in this list, but the ones listed below have a higher quality then some other search engines out there.. We are simply offering you a resource. The top five listings below are listed according to rank along with their estimated market value. Other search engines are listed randomly and hold a very small share of the market.
