Paint Shop Pro Layers

If you are new to using Paint Shop Pro you might have been a bit overwhelmed when you tried to work with the layers pallet. This video tutorial quickie will show take you through the basics of layers, all while watching a image come together in real time.

No technical mumbo jumbo, no exercises to do... just watch and learn.

Please remember these are the basics of layers, and later we will introduce to you the more advanced ways to use layers. The basics is really all you need to use Paint Shop Pro, so have fun and enjoy it!

Items Needed:
Paint Shop Pro Photo X2 Ultimate. Image
(You can use earlier versions, but you will have to improvise)


Below you will see an image that shows all the layers that are included with this image. Below that image is an image of the layer pallet. The layer pallet shows all the layers, named, and in order.

THE VIDEO:

I really enjoyed this tut, but I have to tell you. In all my (many) years, I have never seen the clouds go behind the sun. Must be a new atmospheric phenomenon.

I have been in photography over 30yrs including custom printing (in the film days) at a commercial lab and production manager but have been unable to grasp a lot of the basic digital processing skills such as layers etc. I mostly crop and adjust shadow/midtones/highlights then unsharp mask but have been looking for help doing more. I was directed here from another forum and just watched your Basics: working with layers and feel I have learned a lot already.
I'll be using PaintShop Pro X3 for photo editing and look forward to learning more here.
