The CSS Color Collection
Popular Color Schemes
Web Page Design is not just all pretty pictures and words. Designers need to prepare for their designs with consideration to colors, typography, illustrations, and more. Each aspect in a design should compliment each other, but yet contain the bold and soft textures to please the eye. Today's Web Designers are using CSS ( Cascading Style Sheets ) to design their layout typographic's and color-schemes. CSS allows us to design beautiful web pages which allow for cleaner code, and the best part of CSS is that our web pages are easier to update a color change site wide with just one simple change to the site wide style sheet.
You may not realize how useful and important these color collections and codes can be until you start using CSS. This is why a group of use decided to make up collections from sites that were rated top in their class for beautiful design. Either way I highly recommend you take the time to learn more about CSS, and use it within your web page(s). CSS is typically one lengthy style sheet that is relevant to a whole website. The way HTTP works, the browser will only download the CSS once from the web server and use the cached copy for the whole site. This makes for a faster loading web page which we all know is critical in the design world.
Here are some links to find out more about color collections. First we have a tool called Kuler by Adobe then we have ws color scheme and color schemer.
Complimenting Colors Winning colors in beautiful design
Each color scheme set below contains a collection of colors that compliment each other. These collections have been rated top in their color collections, and are ideal for any web or graphic design project. Use one of the collections as a base to see what nice styles you can come up with, and simply change out the colors within the CSS to try different collections.
I've found the best sites start from something by mistake, or by using color collections you would never even considered using. Go ahead and surprise yourself to see what kind of design you can come up with.
